The Extended Office (VPN)
The Office of Information Technology is now offering "The Extended Office", a service to faculty and staff which replicates the functionality of the campus-based network at off-campus locations.
The service is based on Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology.
The Extended Office requires that users:
- have access to the Internet (either at home, in an off-campus location, hotel, and so on);
- download (one time only) special software (VPN), using the link below.
Once connected to The Extended Office, you will be able to access all of your network directories (H: drive and I: drive) and use Outlook email just as you do in the office.
There is a version of the VPN software for both PCs (Windows 2000, XP & Vista), and MACs (version 10.3.X &.; 10.4.X). Please select the appropriate software type in the links below. Support documentation is available for each platform.
