What is Banner?

The Banner information system houses University records including recruiting, admissions, registration, academic history, scheduling, financial aid, student accounts, finance, human resources, and alumni. One of the most important concepts to remember about Banner is that it represents a single, relational database of all University information about the people, the academics, and the finances of the University. This unified database provides great potential for more effective student services, more efficient administrative operations, and better informed planning and decision making.

How do I get access to Banner?

Based on your position responsibilities, your supervisor will determine if Banner access is necessary. Contact the OIT Helpdesk for appropriate forms to gain secure access to this product at extension 4357 or e-mail helpdesk@nl.edu.

How do I request a Banner report?

If you are a staff member and you require a report to complete your job responsibilities, complete a Banner Request Form and submit it to the OIT Department. To obtain the form, contact the OIT Help Desk at 847-465-0575, extension 4357. You may also download the Request Form from the Documentation section of this site. Creating reports can be time consuming and complex. Please be sure to allow adequate lead time (which may be several weeks for complex reporting needs).
