  Online Survey Tool Now Available

Online surveys are an effective way to get the information you need at low cost and with quick turn-around and analysis of the data. We now have a site license for WebSurveyor (www.websurveyor.com) that allows NLU faculty and staff to create web surveys in-house very easily without having to spend the extensive development time typical for printed surveys. You can create and publish a standard-form survey in less than 10 minutes. You collect results as fast as your survey participants click the "Submit" button. You can collect and analyze results as they are received.

To start, you can choose one of about 100 questionnaire templates, then do a bit of editing, upload the survey to our WebSurveyor server, and you have a live survey on the Web. If you want something more customized, the process takes longer, but the procedure is still quite easy for you to master.

WebSurveyor offers a range of question types that includes rating scales, rank order, and validated fields. Matrix (or table) questions are also supported to allow multiple or single responses for each question. WebSurveyor also has the ability to create true multi-page surveys that support skip logic (jumping from one question to another based on a condition) and data piping (using a piece of information collected earlier in the survey in a subsequent question).

National-Louis University faculty and staff may use Web Surveyor in support of instruction and academic or administrative research. The tool also provides a balloting function for use in NLU elections. To request an account or for more information, please email websurveyor@nl.edu.
