  Lab Software Imaging Schedule - Fall 2002

Here are the basics of the image development, testing and loading schedule for the FALL 2002 term.

Action Date Responsible Group(s)
Last date that new software requests accepted for Fall 2002 term. NOTE: this means providing OIT with the actual media and evidence of licensing by this date. July 29 Faculty
Build the software "image" (the total package of software to be loaded in a lab) July 30-Aug 6 OIT
Test the new software image (software that runs fine by itself may not work in a networked lab environment on a machine with dozens of other programs). This includes testing of ALL software, not just newly added items, as the new items may interact with "old standards". Aug 7 - Aug 12 Faculty and/or Program Coordinators
Error correction, fine tuning of the software image Aug 13 - Aug 17 OIT
FINAL TEST of software image- Aug 18 Faculty and/or Program Coordinators
Image FROZEN for the term Aug 19 All
Image installed in labs Aug 19 - Sept 7 OIT
Fall 2002 Term begins Sept 8 ALL
