NLU Email Comes to Our Adjuncts - at last!
National-Louis' 1,200 adjuncts are a critical part of the education we deliver to our students. Many of them are long term members of the NLU community who provide valuable service both in and out of the classroom. It is to the advantage of NLU to be able to communicate effectively with this large and dispersed talent pool. Starting this fall, Info Tech will establish nl.edu email accounts for all adjuncts.
There will be some developmental challenges that all of us will have to work through. We ask your help and suggestions.
Basic procedures you need to know:
- All adjuncts who have had a contract within the last 5 terms are included.
- If an adjunct has not taught for the last 5 terms, their account will not be created (and, in subsequent terms, such adjunct faculty with email will have their accounts deleted).
- All adjunct email addresses will be different from full time faculty addresses.
- The format is: firstname.lastname@nl.edu
- We will establish a public distribution list of all Adjunct Faculty.
- We will establish public distribution lists for adjuncts of each college, but we will need the cooperation of a person within each college to fine tune and maintain those lists (we will give maintenance rights to a person selected by each college).
